On Saturday, the Foragers volunteered at the LifeNet Share the Love 5K for their community service project. The race helps raise funds for the company’s foundation to promote the need for organ and tissue donation and support research. The Foragers arrived at around 7:30 in the morning. It was a little chilly which wasn’t good for the bees in the observation hive.
Before the race, we setup an information table to educate the racers about honey bees. Ashten wore a full beekeeping suit and explained the frame inside the hive to the racers that came to the table. Kayla and Amariah helped cheered the racers across the finish line. Nina handed out waters to the thirsty finishers. The Foragers were happy to have been able to be part of the race and to help support a foundation that helps so many people.
